The make your stay in Cambodia as comfortable as possible, we as KA Tour gives you some inside tips. It doesn’t mean that our words are the only truths, but we try to advice you from our local experiences and on that way assist your upcoming traveling.

Clothing :

Traveling in a tropical climate can be very tough and hot. Therefore, don't bring to much unnecessary dresses and wear light cotton clothes. Especially visiting the temples in Siem Reap Angkor needs extra attention. There are many stairs, rocks and other obstacles, that can be very exhausted for you. So, wear comfortable clothes and good shoes (no slippers). Protect your head with a cap or another kind of protection. If you skin is sensitive, please wear long sleeves to protect you against the burning sun and also the insects around the temples.



Drinking :

Never drink water from the tap but always purified drinking water from a bottle. For brushing your tooth and showering it's no problem to use tap water. International restaurants use sterilized iced for drinks, and this is safe to drink. In the most local restaurants the quality of ice for drinks is low and perhaps not hygienic. It's better to avoid ice at local places.



Essential :

Your passport, air tickets, money, credit cards, traveler's checks, malaria pills, sun protection and sunglasses. Make two copies of all documents including credit cards. Leave one at home, take one with you in a place other than the originals.



Equipments :

Take note that traveling in Cambodia is different from your homeland. Prevent is always better than repair. Therefore, just bring small practical tools, like a waterproof flashlight, tape, small Swiss Army knife with scissors and nail file for example.



First Aid Kit :

An instruction from your doctor or a letter describing the drugs you are carrying can be helpful. Pack wads of anti diarrheas, electrolyte powder, antibiotics, insect-sting kit, something against itching and colds. Single side razor blades, a lighter, condoms, rubber gloves, needle and small first aid kid is good to have.



Gifts :

Most of the third world countries image you as a rich customer. As a result that beggar belongs to the street view of Cambodia. The country fit into one of the poorest in his region and world wide. Anyhow, be aware to give money because there are several organizations that send people to beg and than take their money. Please follow your heart with a clear mind in this case. To help and give something: keep it simple and have plenty to go around. We give you a few suggestions; however, it's your own choice to give (English books, phrase books, handwriting books, notebooks, pens, etc).



Internet :

Using Internet in Cambodia belongs to a daily activity from tourists and locals as well. Internet is available in the most develop cities; however, at the country side is no opportunity.



Luggage :

The easiest way to travel is with a backpack or normal bag. Small lockers are good to slow down thieves. You can use clear Tupperware containers to store first aid, medicines, and other assorted small objects



Safety :

Cambodia can be identified as SAFE. The past belongs to the past and it's safe to travel toward nearly all places. Anyway, they are still abundance of mines hidden deep inside the jungles. However, all travel places are declared that out of mines. Moreover, as a tourist you are also not in robbery danger. Anyway, please be aware and watch your belongings, don't embellish expensive materials on the streets. Especially Phnom Penh reports more and more robberies, mainly at night time. On the other hand, Siem Reap belongs still to one of the safest cities in Cambodia.
